Join us January 1, 2023!

After years together, months engaged, and too long without bringing our closest family and friends together, we can’t wait to celebrate our wedding with you.

LODGING & DIRECTIONS

December 31, 2022

Celebrate New Year’s Eve in or out, then crash at The Graduate Hotel, located between Saint Paul and Minneapolis at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, easily accessible from I-94 and I-35W, as well as Metro Transit rail or bus from MSP International Airport.

DRESS CODE

January 1, 2023

When our moms asked us what to wear, we encouraged them to make us their excuse to treat themselves to something special and comfortable that they’d wear again. Dan’s wearing a suit, Laura’s wearing a classy dress, and we sincerely invite you to wear what’s comfortable, affordable, and festive for you. You won’t need your dancing shoes, but buffet pants might come in handy.

PHOTOS

9:00 am

Laura and Dan will find spaces around McNamara Alumni Center and the University of Minnesota Twin Cities to capture a few images of the big day.

GIFTS

In lieu of bringing gifts to the party, we invite you to help make an Italian honeymoon a reality.

GATHER & CELEBRATE

10:00 am

Make your way across town to the University Avenue Ramp or through the Gopher Way tunnel from The Graduate Hotel or Washington Avenue Ramp to McNamara Alumni Center.

When you arrive, follow building signage to our celebration in the
A.I. Johnson Great Room, located off of beautiful Memorial Hall. We’ve got the place to ourselves, so follow your nose to the buffet and bar.

We’ll have late night snacks first thing in the morning, plus coffee, pastries, and mimosas, so we hope you’ll join us for social time, candid and ‘plandid’ photos (informal, with enough notice to not be caught chewing!), and maybe a game (Jacob, will you bring a cribbage board?).

MAKE IT OFFICIAL

Just before 12:00 Noon

Top off your morning beverage and empty the snack buffet, then find your assigned seat (swapping encouraged if it makes you more comfortable!) and get ready for the big moment.

12:00 Noon

Surrounded by all of you, we’ll declare our intentions, exchange vows and rings, and officially begin the next chapter of our journey together. We intend to keep this ceremony short and sweet, light-hearted and comfortable, and we’ll invite those with short attention spans (including Dan) to get right up close to Laura!

LET'S EAT

12:15ish

Brunch is served! After the ceremony, follow Laura and Dan to the brunch buffet where you’ll find an assortment of our favorite foods, prepared as accessibly as possible based on your needs. We’ve worked with the D’Amico team to make sure there are plenty of dairy-free and gluten-friendly options for Laura, meat-free and pork-free options, special dishes for those that need extra care, all-you-can-(responsibly)-enjoy mimosas, and lots of hot chocolate. Enjoy!

We aren’t planning any typical wedding stuff during the meal, but don’t be surprised if somebody decides to say something nice, maybe even punctuating with the clinking of glasses. We are loved by very classy people, after all.

We’ve asked the catering team to plan carefully to minimize food waste, so if we run out of something on the buffet, know that it was our request, as excess prepared food cannot be sent home in doggy bags or shared with community support agencies on January 1. That said, eat up! We’re counting on you out-of-towners to unabashedly take the last servings so we don’t end up with the ‘Minnesota bite’ left in each dish.

DON'T FORGET THE CAKE

1:00ish

No celebration of Laura and Dan is complete without cake. So we’ve asked the team to make a Laura-friendly version of the classic D’Amico wedding cake made family-famous when Jolene and Aunt Jan learned to make it with friends. Prepare to enjoy!

Hopefully a few games of Uno, Five Crowns, or cribbage will keep the celebration going for a bit!

Beverages will continue to be served throughout the event, so enjoy the party responsibly and arrange a safe ride if you’ve had too much coffee (or anything else).

KEEP THE CELEBRATION GOING

3:00ish

When the cake is gone, the games are won, and the bar is closed, the playlist will end, we’ll make sure you get a parking voucher and some flowers if you’d like, and make our way to The Graduate Hotel where unique community spaces await, complete with table games and a fireplace just like the Columbia Inn in Pine Tree, Vermont (White Christmas, anyone?).

We plan to spend the afternoon and evening casually with anyone who would like to join us. We’ll add more details here as the date gets closer.

Parking is on us. We’ll make sure you get whatever you need to exit the ramps free of charge.
